[edit] Character Background

Pamela Isley was an ingenious botanical biochemist at the university where she studied, but being a shy, timid person, was easily seduced by her mentor, Dr. Jason Woodrue. As part of a twisted experiment, Woodrue injected her with plant-based toxins and chemicals, infusing Isley with a toxic aura, immunity to nearly all poisons, and the characteristics of plants (how far this is depicted depends on the writer).

Unfortunately, the "treatment" also drove Isley insane, and she dropped out of school not soon after, settling in Gotham eventually. Her first "official" criminal act involved holding Gotham hostage with toxic plant spores, but the plot was thwarted by Batman, and Isley, now calling herself Poison Ivy, was carted off to Arkham Asylum.

Since then, Ivy has been shown to be an eco-terrorist of sorts, either committing crimes to gain money for the sake of saving her precious plants or directly attacking the people responsible for destroying them.

Though the extent of her "powers" vary from writer to writer, Ivy is almost always shown as a skilled scientist, creating monstrous mutated plants to do her bidding. In addition, she often possesses a poisonous kiss, either naturally exuded from pheromones or applied through a special lipstick, that can either kill or mesmerize her victims.

[edit] In Lego Batman: The Video Game

After escaping from Arkham, Ivy joins The Riddler's gang in their plot to rob the Gotham Gold Reserves. When Riddler is forced to flee on foot from Batman and Robin after Two-Face's Armored Van breaks down, she comes to his rescue, using mutant seeds to help him get to the rooftops. While they are escaping, however, Batman takes one of the leaves back to the Batcave for analysis.

Later, the duo sneak into the Gotham Botanical Gardens to steal more of the seeds. After Riddler helps her grow several mutated plants, Ivy gives them to him, and stays behind in the greenhouse among her precious plants.

Batman and Robin eventually arrive, having figured out the the leaf belongs to a plant found only at the gardens, and destroy Ivy's three man-eating plant guards, but Ivy uses a special flower to temporarily confuse Robin with lovesickness, allowing the Riddler to get away.

Ivy was last seen in her cell at Arkham, growing several potted plants.

[edit] Abilities and Equipment

As her physical state renders her immune to all toxins, Ivy is easily able to pass through jets of poison gas and swim in toxic waste. She also possesses a long-distance attack in the form of blowing out a trail of toxic pollen with a kiss. This attack can kill almost any enemy in a single hit.

In addition, Ivy's athletic build, bolstered by the toxins she was infused with, allows her to jump extra-high. She also has a single "grab" attack - a mouth-to-mouth toxic kiss that is instantly fatal.

[edit] Appearance

Reflecting her hot-tempered personality after the transformation, Ivy's hair is long and a fiery red. Her partially-plant body manifests itself in her green eyelids and lips, which are laced with chlorophyll.

In the way of costume, Ivy dons little more than a simply one-piece bathing suit made of leaves. It has been theorized that these leaves are poison ivy leaves, as she would not be affected by them.
